A discontented Maharajah, also disjointed
The Bible states the following on forgiveness -
Forgiveness is a decision of the will. Since God commands us to forgive, we must make a conscious choice to forgive. This frees the forgiving one from the past. The "offender" may not desire forgiveness and may not change (Matthew 5:44).
The Bhagvad Gita stresses that forgiveness is one amongst 26 transcedental qualities bestowed or rather cultivated by men bestowed with divine nature.
I need to absolve myself of my ego and strive to achieve this. In the course of our lives, we meet so many people, in various trajectories of time and circumstances of their own. There is bound to be certain friction, unintentional or otherwise. But inspite of all this, one has to move on. I am the pilot of my own salvation, and I need to navigate carefully. I lose too much of my precious soul fuel, mind space, and focus if I give in to anger, directed at petty actions, intentions..... I need to rise above them.
Mind you, when they say you need to let go of ego, it is not as easy as that. It is to fuel my ego that I will endeavour to forgive, forget is another matter of course, am cursed with a decent memory!! But I need to move on, smile and carry on as if this has not impacted me a bit! Oui, c'est difficulte! Malice which is intentional hurts, criticism which is calculated to put you down stings, white lies and misty-grey actions are confusing,........ nevertheless, I cannot control or change another person's behaviour, mind, intentions.....
So be it, we all play our parts on the daily stages of life, sometimes it is best no to pick up negative cues and react, resolutely speaking out our lines, eyes straight ahead, even if your brow is fruzzled with confusion lines, why me??
Because I have many other things to do with my time, many mountains to climb, many glens and forests to explore, many skills to learn and I can't waste a single extra thought on you and your petty hedonisms. So, I forgive you, for all in the past, and some for the future... After all, people don't really change, do they!!
