Goodbye 2016!
It's been quite a year! Upheavels, turbulences, loss, constraints, there has never been a moment of let up. Even the quiet periods have been unnerving...
It seems like only in the beginning of the year, we had just returned from a trip to Rajasthan...that was followed by Big G and her wish to discontinue her dance classes, year end exams, the trips to passport office, visa application, packing, sorting, intermittent good byes from time to time....the long stay with parents...last time I could be with Mom, arriving to a place we were living before, and realising it's not going to be a case of just taking up with the life we had once lived....of having to be very strong when I could not go back after Mom's passing away, realisation that it is words that make and break relationships, oh 2016 has been a record year of letting people move on from my life....sometimes even without realising it or wishing it... and occasionally relieved too for who wants unwanted negativity with all that one has to contend with...
I guess am going to be a lifelong learner, more so when it comes to managing expectations and relationships and should lighten up a bit, not take myself or even the others seriously.... There are some who have stood by me no matter what, recognising that I mean well and thus am not as bereft as I thought I am.. there have been attempts to patch up too...so all in a all a richly embroidered tapestry of relating. For most of the rest it has been matters of the home and hearth that have superseded anything I did and looks to remain that way for a bit.
2017 will see a calmer me for sure, who will use fewer words, think before I speak and do my bit irrespective of what the other person does/perceives. Have met some inspiring folks and can, rather should learn from their discipline and dedication to many things. It will be a case of more being on the move, focusing on short projects instead of trying to change everything in a single attempt, which never happens....eating the toad first thing in the morning, being more mindful about everything, and doing whatever I have resolved to do.
Wishing all who read this blog (if anyone still does :)) a Very Happy New Year 2017! And hoping it is a superlative one for all that you plan to achieve!
