What ho! have you been doing???
One question mark would have been enough right?....I used two too many...my tendency to exaggerate. If I tell you I have been super busy....ignore the prefix....busy yes...who isn't.. but working efficiently would help get done all I am supposed to. Caught out on the efficient bit...cough cough! excuse me....don't go about being empathising or is it sympathising... with me when I spiel out a whole reel of excuses....
If I step out and look at myself going about life I can only shake my head and laugh at myself. More often than not I am in touch with random strangers than myself. More acquainted with random bits and bytes of their thoughts, words, visuals ....yes phones and social media, blogs, twitter, insta... And it goes on...the first checking of phone, gm and forward messages on WA...intermittently checking posts...responding....that real life is more of an afterthought. Today I spent a few minutes at the wet green grass outside music academy, passing time to pick up daughter and it was a soothing feeling....felt at peace. Otherwise its usually living tethered to phone or some device.
We had 2 weeks of Easter break...the kids, not me. I had a week of leave applied for and instead of the staycation like last year we made a last minute plan to visit Venice. Its a lovely place and the trip was much needed in terms of family bonding. Lots of walking, bustling with tourists....lot of history too..we did Museum visits, stumbled into a delightful Jewish eatery 'Gamgam' in the Jewish quarters, some fun shopping in Murano.....and over all just enjoyed the trip. A holiday after two years almost. I don't consider trips home to India as holiday because those are so packed with to-dos and to-meets.
Pappa has agreed to visit us this year...and had been preparing the paperwork. Hopefully the visa gets processed without any delays. It will do us all a lot of good. I hardly have sufficient time to spend time with my father in India...a week at the most and that's so little. Growing up with my Dadima living with us, I can understand the impact grandparents have in our lives, taking up from busy parents who have other things to focus on.
It will be almost two years of working for me in June and though I have not even learnt 0.1 of all I need to know or should know I am grateful for having this opportunity...though often I do crib about being stretched...which IMO is not a bad thing. Being stretched I meant. Getting to work is not that big a deal now as driving has become easier....
I am happy I could take the time out to post this update. If you are a reader you know with my blogging frequency posts are 'updates' only first one for 2019! With that wish you all a good weekend. My regular plans were changed due to an allergy and that's how this post came about. Anyhow...it is one thing or the other. Arrivederci...as they say:))
Whoa! So nice to read a post from you after a long time! Not that I have been posting or reading often...but still.
ReplyDeleteNow will head off to read other updates, seems like you've been as infrequent as I have been :)
