I realize that I have not mentioned my little one much in this blog. The truth is that she always has had to wait her turn while I am dealing with her demanding, jealous-due-to-her position being -usurped big sister. I'd be changing lil G's diaper and big G will whine and grunt and struggle with her buttons or jeans or whatever till I am so exasperated that I will leave lil G and attend to her first. Always happens, hate to do so but i do! Life's always a bit urgent and immediate for big G.

And lil G is one of those baby's who is so accommodating and sweet and so patiently awaits her turn. In June we celebrated her 2nd birthday. This is the first time i baked a cake for my kids birthdays, and she blew the 2 candles with a lot of help from her big sister.

As a 7 month old she knew how to whistle, I kid you not and it was so funny to see her earnestly produce a tuneless sound, looking a bi surprised at the same time. She was a bit late w.r.t milestones as compared to her sister and babycenter guidelines. I have lived in eternal guilt since the time she fell down from the cot under my care when 5 months old. That was her first demonstration of turning over but i missed it as I was busy packing hubby's suitcase 4 steps away. This was in my mother's house and the unanimous verdict was I was to be executed irrespective of whether i pleaded guilty or not guilty. Thank God my parents or hubby are not lawyers. My mother in law who normally is not much of a phone person would call almost every single day to check on her. Some crazy days......... And after that, I've resorted to checking all the milestone guides with so much trepidation and guilt as lil G was always late in each of them.

Thankfully though, the crawl, walk and run happened in due course. Now I worry, sometimes, about the talking. At 2 years age, she speaks the first and last few words clearly but has a tendency to eat up the words in between and pronunciations are atrociously adorable, pardon my alliterations. Chocolate is soclad, Princess is pshess............peekaboo is ikkaboo, medicine is mesan........... But on the other hand, she has smartened onto knowing that her big sis, whom she lovingly calls bena, is a little control freak with a little-mother syndrome thrown in and so she has to stand her ground at times. Which she does and how! A loud voice - she can outshout her sister and also does not hesitate to use a punch or two to make her point across.

At all other times, she is adorably watching her sister and copying her for everything. Dancing to a song on TV, or hugging and kissing Daddy, or even making valiant scribbles on paper in an attempt to copy big sis in her artistic pursuits. And then there is the stuff she seems to have just picked up - use of thank you, please with a smile when requesting for more soclad, even numbers and alphabets and nursery rhymes, I confess to not spending as much time with her on all this as I did with big G.

Lil g is developing her own delightful and charming persona and we as parents are enjoying the pleasures and travails of parenting with 2 spirited and lovely daughters.
