Never, never mind the headlines. I could always sum it up as weather, whether, marriage and illness, languages....but that would make even less sense. As I write this post, the bil is married back home. This is a second chance at it for him and wishing him the best for the same. I have been witness to a marriage going horribly wrong for him during our stay there and am happy that he found someone so well suited for him. Hoping he does his fair share of the partnership too.
Kids and me could not go for the wedding, it being in the middle of school year, exam times. We would have not been able to stay longer than a week and then unable to go back for summer vacations - priority for me is to spend time with my father. It took some explaining to the mil and extended family. I guess each one of us has our reasons and eventually they understood where I am coming from. Of course, communication from that end was minimal.....the excuse being wedding preparations and I am learning to cut down any expectations in this area....and post wedding even more, ha ha ha....
I did say I joined language classes for Dutch did I not, but finding them tough as I seem to have forgotten a lot, especially grammar rules and such. Off late I seem to have to put extra effort in learning anything... could be age, or could be the focus...or both. I am missing three classes since husband is away to attend the wedding and I hope I don't end up playing permanent catching up. In other news I have also started teaching Hindi at the Sunday school. I must say that with kids, one has to have one's wits around. I kind of enjoy it though.
We have been ill on and off at home. Don't know if it is the changing weather, which goes from 2-3 degrees to 14-15 in the afternoons or low immunity.... Or a closed house....Have been under the weather since Sunday and yesterday was called from school to pick up lil G who had a stomach ache and throwing up. I have used this to stop waffles, biscuits and bread from going into the school tiffin. Have sent her to school today...hopefully she is ok. Yesterday when I went to her class to pick her up, a lot of her classmates clustered around me, one girl who apparently insists on being lil G's best friend even hugged me. I was sort of pleasantly surprised.
When her older sis came back, lil G was still sleeping. After 1.5 hours, Big G could not bear to let lil G be any more and she adjusted the covers once again, pulled the pillow just a bit this way, smoothed her hair away, kissed her plump cheek. Really lil G is sister's pet and peeve at the same time, as is possible only with siblings. For me too, getting talking to bro required a short hi message to him.
Finally done with knitting my first hat, what they claim takes a day or max few hours took me a month and more, after so many youtube videos and some comprehension issues where people don't post clearly...another limitation was I did not use circular needles or double pointed ones, just the regular ones, for which there are fewer videos.....communication is so big in everything. Am proud of myself though for seeing the project through. Will update this with a pic sometime later. This post has to go now.
