Coffee and June....
The title needs to be explained....I had a lot of coffee in June, from the Pelican brand machines to be precise. I used to limit myself to two a day, in a day's work, never more. Always to help me out of the cloud that formed in my mind - information overload. The assignment was over to the satisfaction of all parties included. And I got an extension, albiet at another location.
Speaking of coffee we were all looking forward to our vacation time in India, where amongst other things, home-brewed filter coffee was one of the important things too. Good news is that I can still take some time off, and though it has been a case of losing some money on the tickets front, but happy that I can make it back home. Grateful that things worked out this way. Kids are staying longer and looking forwards to it.
June was also a test of managing stuff on multiple fronts - for me and the rest of the family who were used to having me all the time. I think adjustment is work in progress for us all and will take a while to settle down. Husband too has been very hands on and cooperative with stuff. Big G resonsibly overseeing lil g in situations when I could not see to her.
June was also the last month for school, and kids had exams etc. Both kids have done decently good. Of course, there is always scope for improvement and there should be stuff to work on to better ourselves. We always have year-end thank you gifts for the teachers, try to get something from back home, so it is a bit different. This year we had stuff from Jute Factory, and the teachers loved it.
The coffee at the new location is not that good and if I have any disappointments in this matter I have to remind myself that I am not there for drinking coffee surely. There is lots to learn and I better focus on that.
June was endings and beginnings of all kinds together and the train ride to and fro gives me some time to reflect on that, to be grateful for the kind of changes that are happening in life, from all the little stuff worked in the past, yes ad hoc steps but a pattern evident today. On that note, should be writing my post for July from India and cannot wait for it. See you there, folks. Happy July, monsoons, and festive season in advance.
