2G tales...
Over to the two G's then....
Lil G's finished with school - the play school that I had talked about in a previous post. It was great for her and the biggest bonus was it was close to home and it was pretty much fun. In fact their motto is "Fun is Learning", isn't that so cool. She started the vacation by falling ill. and has lost all her chubbiness. The horrible cough still remains, but the mischievousness and her liveliness is very much intact.
I have been focusing a bit more inwardly than usual, and so the kids have taken a lot of advantage of that. TV time and IPad is rationed and I even make them accompany me in my evening walks or we go to the play park twice a week, like earlier. The other day, lil G and me played carrom for the first time with each other. Rules are always very strict for me and very relaxed for her; then there was this time the three of us were walking back from somewhere and lil G described how she became friends with N, very succinctly put, in her typical manner. "It was, you know, my 2nd day at school and I did not know many kids then. Thenn (with a lot of emphasis on n), N came to me, and said "hello" and I said "hi" and in circle time we sat together and we became friends. That's all there is to it, but I find it very innocent and precious.
Big G has come into her own very much. Of course, certain quirks still remain, like the first thing she wants to do on coming back home is getting out of her school/outside clothes and into homeclothes, which is why I can't even stop to pick up bread etc on my way back. Or the fact that she gets upset if the house is in a bit of a mess and gets onto arranging things. They are endearing sometimes, exasperating at other times. Which results in a bit of tiff between us as her idea of arranging is often stuffing everything behind cushions. A great place to begin your search with looking for lost stuff at our place. So we call her "Stacker" at times. And always if we don't find anything we say "Ask Stacker, she may have something to do with it."
Got Big G an email id of her own so that she can write to her father and they could have an independent (of me) communication with each other. I have the password and I open the mail a/c for her, so those controls are there, considering she is young, and he is the only person she writes to. "Letters from daughter to father" I should possibly print a few but for invasion of privacy, they make me teary-eyed when I read them. Oh! she trusts me to go through her composed mail before hitting the send button. And a rather proud Daddy who is delighted to hear from her. I need to prod him with mail or whatsapp sometimes if he is late in replying but a nice channel of communication which we all enjoy and she really looks forward to.
Lil G's art is becoming increasingly adorable, ok, I am extremely biased here. And I use it to adorn profile pics and such. The little imp that she is, she refuses to allow me to take a pic sometimes and I have to wait for the moments when the drawing lies discarded around the house. Each drawing/illustration is explained, which is the best part. Ducks for some reason are the current favourite.
Putting up one with details -
1. Ducks are flying up in the sky.
2. Rainbow with a prominent red, becoz you can't always see all the colours.
3. The girl in pink is lil G, playing with a ball (the red splotch).
4. The small red figure in background is a fairy (I did not know how to draw one very good)
5, Next to fairy a small butterfly (with 3 wings)
6. The most prominent figure is Big G with big eyelashes and long hair (have made her very pretty this time, mama!)
7. Figure on the RHS in red, holding what look's like a cat's face is me, Mama! That is actually a bouncer type of toy. The other red splotches are spare balls. Cute, isn't it?
That's for now. Summer holidays loom over us and I have not made any enquiries for summer camps etc. We'll just see how this goes....today is one of those days - with no fixed agenda.

I love that she's writing letters to her dad!! So very sweet! And, that definitely will encourage her to write, which is always a great thing!
