New Year Resolutions - Blogathon 2014 Post 1

Hello all! This is the first in the series of posts for the month of January, Blogathon initiative by Dreamy Mommy here.

Today's prompt is New Year Resolutions. In fact, in my hastily scribbled end-of-year post I did touch briefly on this. In the last few years, I like to make resolutions or declarations, whichever, in writing. This is because in the course of steering one'e life through uncharted waters and all that, it is easy to land up someplace you simply did not intend going.

My main compass-points for this year are -

1. Take one day at a time - each day is important, value it.
2. Move it, move it - So get moving in some way - a walk, a jog, yoga, dance...
3. Reflect before you speak and/or write.
4. Take responsibility for yourself and what you want to do, easy just does not do it.
5. Be thankful, be grateful, be positive and open-minded. Appreciate differences.
6. Put everything down and listen to my kids when they are talking - even if they are repeating something for the nth time.
7. Work with my hands - it gives me mental piece and satisfaction. Even if it is that tacky quilling card in yesterday's post :D
8. Spend first 10 minutes of the day and last 10 minutes in reflection. Don't take twitter to bed, a book is a much better idea.
9. Try to abolish fear of failure and attempt something new I've always wanted to do.
10. Remember to take deep long breaths through this all.

There, I've kept it simple. What about you? Have you made any resolutions?
