Blog me too!!

If Blogger did make it mandatory for every blogger to say why they decided to call their blog what they did, I am sure it would probably make equally interested reading as the postings. For instance, I know my friend Flaash Gordon, a renowned quizzer writes an extremely humorous and informative blog, shallow Mal is anything but , rather a case of still waters run deep...and Mahanandi is a really exceptional food blog ...
Sometimes blogs are as obvious as their titles, sometimes it's what you infer. I have changed my blog title, url a half a dozen times. Am I finally ok with this name then? comme ci, comme ça! Nothing to say I won't change it when the fancy strikes. As of now, am quite happy with such a no-disclosure kind of title - devoid of references to blog ethnicity, nationality, affiliation, even to the extent of content prototyping.

Why am I explaining all this, who gives a damn anyway. I like wordgames as also word play. I believe that some words are friendly and have a nice feel, like grin, chortle, chuckle - they make u smile....don't they, now pls don't say that's because u know what they mean. Try these for size then - decipher, concentrate, pontificate, preposterous - saying them itself makes you draw your eyebrows together and kind of changes the mood altogether.

As i write this, i realise i am kind of limited on my vocabulary, I used to subscribe to wordsmith.org once, a few years ago when the Internet was the latest wonder! In fact, once when i had run out of interviews for my column 'Webspirits' - focused on individuals who had used the net creatively (this was in a magazine i used to work for, made great friends there - that's for another time). Well, faced with a dire consequence of unfinished deadline i had even written to Anu Garg at wordsmith for an online interview.

Second criticsm, bad with style, pathetic with headlines. What comes first - a good story or a great headline, its like the chicken and egg question. Nowadays u also have Flesch indexes and keyword densities to contend with........... So why do I insist on writing and that too a public blog (so what if no one i know still knows of its existence). Why not? Why don't you stop eating chocolate if you know you are fat? or resist buying the latest cellphone only to know the next model will have enhanced features..........

Blog me too ......uhm.....as a hobby, to improve my writing skill, to be able to voice my opinions, and surely with a couple of million blogs at the last count, one more will be another face in the crowd.
