A family identity

This is something I feel strongly about, the need for a strong family identity. Earlier when we used to live with larger extended families, traditions and values would be passed from one generation to the other and would be imbibed as the unique identity of the family as a whole. In the changing times of today, when we have nuclear families or even single-parent families we need them even more.

  2. Read the article, well-written and interesting, especially as this is something I have been thinking about often nowadays. I guess for us, its playing board games every weekend, reading together, travelling and recently we've started with quizzing every night.

    1. Thanks Aparna, it's something similar to a coat-of-arms, unique to each family. We've just about started playing board games here and it is fun especially when we have winner 1 and winner 2. Unsaid rule parents can never win:)

    1. Thanks Renuji, it's been a long time, how have you been. I believe it need not be only rituals, but shared family values, activities and beliefs that help in strengthening the bond b/w family members.
