The private lives of my children
When my kids were still babies (though I still maintain they are babies only), as a new mother I learnt to recognize their cries and decode their needs. With time, I could sense they were ill, wanted to throw up, or that they were being naughty or testy. As they learned to speak, this unspoken and immediate cognizance of their needs and wants has diminished, though not disappeared entirely. I am mostly prepared for melt-downs and tantrums caused due to hunger and tiredness.

DeleteReally like the article, Vibha. So true and there is so much I donno about my kids "private lives". To be honest, I'm a little relieved that Y has a ahorter day at the new school starting this year and will be home by 12.30 for lunch. Makes me feel like I still have some control and hope! Most annoying is when husband gets to know things that I dont!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aparna, I wrote this in a big hurry and so have not mentioned adequately examples of their perceptions on life, certain issues - arrived at independently. Good you'll have more time with Y, I wish I had that with lil G. Lol, true, in my case my husband always comes to know about upsets when Mama has scolded them or like when Mama has been naughty too, as Big G says.
DeleteThat was a nice write up.. Have commented there
