A story to my first born...

You know, before you came G, there was only Mama and Daddy at home. They both went to office, came home, ate mum-mum and slept and back to work again. There was no one to play peek-a-boo with, no one to blow bubbles with and no one to sing nursery rhymes and songs to. Home was a silent place as G was not here to chuckle and gurgle and make boo-ba sounds. And Rola bear and Raja elephant and nibble-nibble dolly also did not live with us then.
Mama and Daddy wanted to have a baby in their lives and prayed to God to grant them their wish. After a bit of hard work from Mama & Daddy, God was happy and blessed them. Mama came to know that a small baby seed was growing in her stomach. Both Mama and Daddy were happy and went about life and work with huge smiles on their faces! Then Mama had to go to the Dr. to make sure G inside was doing okay. Dr. looked at Mama and said - do you want to hear your baby's heart? And Mama said yes - the Dr. placed an instrument on Mama's stomach and there sounded G's heartbeats - dakdakdakdak, so very fast. And then on a screen they showed a small grainy photo of a tiny G. Dr. also told Mama to eat good, take good care of herself with G in her stomach.
G began to grow and became big and thus Mama's stomach became bigger and bigger, like a balloon filled with air. She had to wear loose clothes, the older ones would have buttons going pop-pop. And Mama could not walk fast or do things as quickly as before. She huffed and puffed while doing things. And then Daddy had to come to Belgium. And he wanted Mama to also come there as he wanted to be with baby G when she was born. So Mama packed clothes in a big suitcase, said bye-bye to Nana, Nani and Ajji and flew up up up in the sky in an airplane to be with Daddy. And where was G all this while? Snug in Mama's stomach.
After coming here, they looked for a hospital and doctor and went to the big hospital close to home. The Doctor sent Mama for some tests and this time they heard G's heartbeats again - beating to a quick thump-thump-thump-thump. And on the computer screen they saw G with her arms and feet right upto her tiny fingers. Do you want to know if it is a baby boy or girl asked the Dr. to Mama and Daddy? Yes, they said. Well it is a baby girl! Mama was very happy as she'd always wanted a baby girl. And Daddy too!
They went home and talked about what to name G. They came up with many names - Indira, Nayantara, Durga, ... but they liked G the best. Soon Nani came to join them to help with baby G being born. By this time, Mama's tummy was so big, she did not walk any more but waddled like the quack-quack duck. One fine November morning, they packed clothes for Mama and baby G in a suitcase and went to the hospital. That was the day G was to be born. Daddy stood outside while Nani stayed beside Mama. The Dr. and nurse got G out of Mama's stomach, super quick that was. Wah, wah,wah cried baby G in protest when she came out of Mama's stomach - it's cold, too much light, and everything is so different.
Soon G was weighed, cleaned and dressed in her blue pyjama suit with a blue sweater and then handed over to Mama, Daddy and Nani. G was still crying a little but became quiet when she was handed to Mama. She had some milk and burped and went to sleep without a lot of fuss. Mama, Daddy and Nani watched over her. This is actually the beginning of G's story...
