The little things....

Time's passing so quick that I have to double up my efforts to keep space and do find myself lagging a lot of times. April has just sped past. I keep looking back to figure out why....posting often would perhaps give me a more clear picture of what I keep frittering away my time on.

I just remembered that I logged in to write the Gratitude Circle post, just in time, and will focus on the positives, the other stuff can wait. So rephrasing the above statement, I had time to spend with kids, being available to them after they were back from school, generally all of us doing stuff together.

This month was a two-week holiday for the Easter Vacations and we did a short trip to Firenze. It is a beautiful city and we really enjoyed the break, considering there were a couple of last minute snags. Big G had been puking since early morning, a stomach bug, and we had to visit the doctor on the morning of departure. That done, we were on our way and stopped to fill up at a petrol bunk. Thanks to a faulty machine at the petrol station, we managed to deflate the tyre, an oversight which cost us almost 2 hours. The attendants at the station were very helpful and we managed to resolve it. Also, spotting that saved others from getting into a similar predicament. We arrived past midnight into the city, but it was an adventure nevertheless.

The next 5 days were holiday euphoria, with lots of walking, trying some Tuscan food, great weather and the vibes of  a tourist city. Coming back home to a winter taking over spring was such a letdown. I made rice-dal at 10 pm in the night, a meal we all appreciated to the fullest. Home is where the heart is, isn't it.

Thanks to husband's initiative we have a small green corner at home, some indoor plants. He is the one who takes care of watering them etc and am happy to leave him to it.

The kids have annual performances in dance the next month and the rehearsals have picked up this last week. Two weekends of May consecutively watching them perform. Looking forward to it.

In April my weight has been a constant. This is a classic case of glass half full or half empty whichever way I chose to look at it :D.

Father had his cataract operation, neither me or brother can be with him. I am so grateful to my Mama's family for taking care of him during his recovery, I don't think we can ever repay such debts, only pray for the folks who spare time for others.

I saw Bahubali Part 2, a movie in the theatres after ages and enjoyed the experience. The scale of the movie - sets, costumes, effects is wow....this comes from a person who has not seen a blockbuster in ages and also not the first part of the movie.

Its been a good month of connecting with people too, always grateful on that front. And for the fact that at least one day of the month, I wake up from my blogging slumber to write a post which necessitates some reflection and being thankful for the good things. How has it been for you?
