The mundane stuff..........
Friends, if you've been knitting your brows regarding yesterday's post, do give it a miss. I can't write in any form of abstract, that is pretty clear to me. I would probably delete it but I am looking to reach my 100 soon and counting all the posts I spew. But, the black clouds have been pushed away, sulking in a distant corner and I am going to count my blessings meanwhile!
Lil G's fever is better now, and she is back to her normal sunny self. A big big sigh of relief. Big G got back from school with a cadeautje (gift) for Mother's Day, wrapped in green. She remembered my preference for green over pinks and reds. Both the kids are sitting companionably on the dining table, crunching muesli with dry fruits, occasionally showing off to each other a dried banana or raisin. Reminds me of my childhood when my mother would sometimes let us sit out on the doorstep and eat Maltova.
Another weekend approaches and is not blocked with socializing, thank God. You know what last weekend turned out so different than planned. We did not go to my friend's place as lil G fell ill. But since she had made pizza sauce and the bases and it would be criminal to let it go for naught, we invited them over. I promised to not make anything and I didn't (save for assembling strawberries with cream). The pizza's were yummilicious. The second day we had our neighbours for tea. I made pakodas and ambodes, served with samurai sauce. Oh, and regarding the French bit, they were most kind in assuring me that I spoke nicely. My personal facepalm moment - when I spoke to the lady in French and her husband translated it for her, also in French!!!!! Accent and pronunciation!
Survived the oral exam too. Well, French school is officially over, what a pity, one day to meet people (read get out of the house and live my own life). Nod a lot, smile even more, speak multi-accentend French, jot down words/sentences to look up at home...........will miss it. Miss my classmates, ah the solidarity I presume with them.....we converge from such different worlds.
Made a new friend/acquaintance, another school going mother. She is here from South Africa and seems a bit lost. So, me being me, offered to meet her up for coffee on a Wednesday and plan to introduce her to another friend I know. Also sent her a list of places to shop for Indian grocery. I remember taking a long time to find out such stuff for myself.
I have been feeding a lot of gyaan regarding proteins, vitamins etc to Big G so she eats well. Big G in turn has been asking me how food is digested and we are now watching this video series on You Tube to understand it well. She liked this pretty much.
Another long weekend comes up next week, aargh! What kind of person complains of weekends, only a lazy unemployed soul. So need to get back to tackle some chores, however trivial they may seem. Because if they are done, it misses your eye but they stand glaringly obvious if unattended. And I remain, a reluctant home maker.
