Happy Birthday lil G!

Yes, my baby, you know it's your birthday and you can count on your fat little fingers 3!! A very very happy birthday to you! Frown and pout and shake your curly mop all you want but you will remain the baby of the household. Even when you grow up and have kids of your own!

I can't believe how quickly the 3 years seem to have gone by, lil G, since you arrived into our lives.
Why, wasn't it only yesterday that we shared the news about your arrival-to-be with your sister.......She promptly named you Chulbulli and that's what we called for a while....until so many other nicknames happened.......It's a bit difficult for me to talk to you without your sister's presence, she had to learn how to share but for you it came only but naturally.

Do you know that your passport photo sports not two but three chins? A regular ball you were. And I still can't forget the number of times I have gone back and fro from the hospital for your stool test carrying a speck in the diaper. Finally you obliged! And the hero-worship you would do for your sister, right since you were a baby, craning your neck to see her jumping all around you. And no matter how quietly I would slide off the bed in the morning, you would open your eyes and fix them on me smiling! And how you would lie in your cradle and smile at the ceiling and the bulbs, funny that was......

Too bad you decided to show off your turning skills when I'd placed you at the edge of the bed, and turned for one itsy-bitsy moment. I know now what a person facing an execution trial goes through, and you know when you fell down the stairs again, your father declared me useless.....and your Ajji that I'm unlucky..........luckily, you met all the milestones on babycenter, I would read every 5 minutes, and even now when you say mell for smell, and nail for snail, cocklate for chocolate, pulpul for purple  and the totally adorable way you recite Ba ba black sheep, I continue seeking assurance from there.....Am keeping my fingers crossed.

You know your abc, your Maths as you count on your fingers, princess and cartoons, all from your sis. I have not taught you much. You listen to when Bena and I do stuff and learn just like that. And no, kaka-bullet is not a word you ought to be using, even for things you don't like.

Love your enthusiasm and guts, we do. How you want to sit on the pony ride, carousel! The way you attack your food with single-minded focus. The way you lead your bena to the bathroom, toilet, wherever she is scared to go alone. Only now sometimes, you go halfway and shout Hex (witch) and enjoy it when she comes back shrieking! A total gundi you are. And your baby, the one you mother and then irreverently abandon, and all the games you play so engrossedly, such a joy to behold! And your penchant for shredding paper and littering the whole house, just tolerable.

Daddy says you are the most mature lady in the house!?! I remember when I told you I am lying down because I have a headache you ran and adjusted the curtains to make it darker and said, better now, mama? It is thanks to you that your sister has agreed to move out into your room. And I love to see you all cuddled up together - my 2 little snugbugs. And admire your poise - no separation anxiety for school, only a casual wave and you are in the class. And the way you encouraged your classmate to dance in the school fest, though it was your first time on stage, neat! And the diligent way you wipe the dust from the table for me, a little perfectionist! And the way you want to put your socks in the shoes...so, voila!

And we know who is going to sing Lange zal ze leven in class the loudest today!

I can go on and on, I am obsessed. I am also accused by your dad of loving you more than your sister. Well, it's just so much more easier relating to you as you make it so much easier. Random shows of affection, your impishness, flattery, your sulks and drama -  such a controversial and delectable bundle of joy. Love you so much! How much, tooooo much! Hugs & kissess! from fat mama!!!
