How do you waste your time?

I saw this shared on my FB wall (where else?) and seemed interesting - Experiments in wasting time http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2011/experiments-in-wasting-time/.

Well, I think she is doing so much better than me!

Here's mine for the record and pl. note mine is not by minutes, but days and hours -

Hours of pre-swim anxiety about swimming and then go the pool armed with floats or a noodle!! Someone pl. push me off the deep end.

Putting off doing the ironing till one day there is no more space in the laundry baseket!

Hours and hours of stalking food blogs looking at awesome food and then settling for some comfort food (say khichdi or maggi).

Editing and reediting previous blog posts, blog url, labels, anything to distract myself from writing a new one. The effort!

Yes, hours dithering b/w two almost similar options - when I am booking a hotel or deciding on some curtains!

The point of seeking reassurance - maybe a lifetime of it, in everything big or small I attempt.

Logging in to FB - sometimes yes, sometimes not.

Regrets, bad choices, opportunity costs (clubbing them together), a lot of times. Sometimes even glad for the same, yes life is full of contradictions, actually understanding and realization are.

Playing with my kids, walking in the park, doing nothing worthwhile for a while, listening to good music, or reading a good book or blog, trying to learn a new language, make that 3 (frustratingly slow as it is), time with the Mr., warbling with friends, baking a cake, or even train rides - so worth all the time it takes.

Would love to hear from you guys  what you think is a waste of time.

  6. Yes, things that you do without evaluating whether it's really worth the time and effort!!

  7. Social media, the biggest waste. Takes up so much of time and yes even I keep thinking about trivial issues and planning to death :).
